The Cost per Rail Passenger Trip of $10.56 in February exceeded the forecast by $2.46. This unfavorable variance was due to operating expenses coming in over budget and rail ridership falling short of the forecast by 0.3 million unlinked passenger trips. The 2025 Fiscal Year-to-Date (months of July through February) Cost per Rail Passenger Trip of $11.03 exceeded the forecast by $3.00. This unfavorable variance was due to operating expenses coming in over budget and rail ridership falling short of the forecast by 3.7 million.
